They have to focus on BattleTech before they look beyond BattleTech. I'd ask HBS if it has been considered but I think doing so now would be premature. That's been proven not to be true so the only way we'll get a true successor to MechWarrior 4 is by way of a studio like HBS that licenses it. The only reason why Microsoft would take interest is if they can make it into a successful Xbox title. They decided they're not going to invest their own developers into titles but that didn't stop them from licensing it out to other interested developers. ![]() What happened to the franchise is very much Microsoft to blame. Microsoft doomed it from the start by excluding their core audience. They took a product that appealed to Windows gamers and put it on a platform with an audience that likely never even heard of the franchise. The games that came after MechWarrior 4 that were exclusive to console never sold well.
